When I started the company in 2006, it was a very small operation and I worked with all students myself. We now include many tutors, each with a strong background in pedagogy and a variety of subjects, as well as many other special interests. Our tutors are classroom teachers, special educators and math and science PhD students. A small office staff keeps things running smoothly and ensures clients always have someone to call with questions regarding billing or scheduling.
Walker Tutoring excels at finding good student-tutor connections. We encourage students to find joy and competence while learning subjects that challenge and/or interest them. Our mission is to help students to grow and excel academically. We offer engaging instruction and academic support for students from late elementary school through adulthood in a variety of subjects and skills. Our focus is math for all levels, but we also offer test prep (SAT, ACT, GRE, etc.), help with executive functioning and organizational skills, as well as support in writing, the sciences and foreign languages.
