Walker Tutoring offers one-on-one tutoring services to students of all ages. We tutor students in math,  science, test prep, English/language arts, Spanish, and study skills. We are currently looking for experienced  educators to help families with in person and remote learning in the following areas:

  • High School Math Tutor
  • High School Science Tutor

High School Math Tutor

We are currently looking for someone with experience tutoring students in high school math through AP calculus.

What we are offering:
-A part time independent contractor position in a growing small business (3-15 hours per week)
-Ability to make your own schedule

-Competitive compensation ($35-$37/hour)
-Steady stream of clients
-Good relationships with local school districts
-All billing and payments handled by our office

Required:
-Bachelors (or perhaps Masters) degree
-Experience tutoring and fluency in math through AP calculus
-A joy in the challenge of finding many ways to explain concepts
-Extensive one-on-one education experience
-A strong desire to help all students succeed
-An ability to communicate appropriately with students, parents and school systems
-Flexible weekday schedule
-Vibrant, warm, engaging personality with a knack for connecting with students
-Organized and detail oriented around record keeping and communication
-Commitment through school year ‘21-’22 (longer preferred)

Preferred:
-Certified teacher
-Comfort with high school sciences
-Ability to tutor college-level math
-Ability to tutor additional subjects and/or standardized test preparation
-Experience working with students with special needs
-Understanding of needs of homeschooled students
-Longer commitment
