Walker Tutoring offers one-on-one tutoring services to students of all ages. We tutor students in math,  science, test prep, English/language arts, Spanish, and study skills. We are currently looking for experienced  educators to help families with in person and remote learning in the following areas:

  • High School Math Tutor
  • High School Science Tutor
  • Test Prep Tutor (SAT/ACT)
  • Executive Function Tutor
  • Literacy Specialist

High School Math Tutor

We are currently looking for someone with experience tutoring students in high school math through algebra 2 or higher.

What we are offering:

Required:
-Bachelor’s degree
-Experience tutoring math at the high school and/or college level
-A joy in the challenge of teaching to different learning styles
-Extensive one-on-one education experience
-A strong desire to help all students succeed
-An ability to communicate appropriately with students, parents, and school systems
-Flexible weekday schedule
-Vibrant, warm, engaging personality with a knack for connecting with students
-Organized and detail oriented around record keeping and communication
-Commitment through school year ‘23-’24 (longer preferred)

Preferred:
-Certified teacher
-Comfort helping students with executive functioning skills
-Ability to tutor middle school and/or college-level math
-Ability to tutor additional subjects and/or standardized test preparation
-Experience working with students with special needs
-Understanding of needs of homeschooled students
-Longer commitment

We are currently looking for someone trained in literacy tutoring, preferably in the Orton-Gillingham method.

-Certification and/or training in literacy methods (preferably Orton-Gillingham, but open to others)

-An ability to communicate appropriately with students, parents, and school systems
-Flexible weekday schedule
-Vibrant, warm, engaging personality with a knack for connecting with students
